Fun with Kayla and Piper

So usually we post plenty of pictures, and let them do the talking, and frankly, I bore myself just typing about our lives, but in the same token, it is hard to fill in all the details that pictures don't adequately explain... This is your warning that this blog may be picture free.

Kayla + Baby
Kayla has been loosing plenty of sleep lately. We find ourselves working on DNA homework many days until midnight. When she finally does get to sleep, she tosses and turns for hours until she finally sleeps out of pure exhaustion. poor girl. This pregnancy has been a lot more uncomfortable than Piper's and Paislee's. Most women would probably respond, DUH its pregnancy! This is not you general "i swallowed a watermelon" discomfort- the only woman i ever saw more uncomfortable was Brit, Kayla's sister. To protect the innocent, we'll skip that story. Kayla is quite the trooper though- 2-3hrs of sleep/day, 5 hrs homework/day(that is very conservative) and two rambunctious girls keep her days busy. A recent doctors visit revealed that our baby (37 wks) is breached, amidst what the OB called "a lot of fluid," (this exuberant amount of fluid increases the discomfort Kayla feels) we've decided she is just chilling swimming about.
On a side note: we were going through all of our baby stuff we've accumulated with our last 2 monsters, and decided to complete the "nesting" task, and prepare for baby. We emptied the clothes from storage, organized them, and reviewed accessories and details. After all was complete- I thought that we were ready- there was nothing i perceived as missing or lacking. then Kayla mentioned that we needed Gas Drops (worth their weight in GOLD really...). I sort of laughed then remembered the fiasco with Paislee that Every Walmart, Walgreens and even Target were out. The run on Gas Drops was extremely traumatizing for our family when Paislee was 6 wks old.  Leave it up to Kayla to be prepared... Other than that... gring on the BABY!

Piper
Piper, though she id developing odd sleeping habits, if FINALLY warming up to play with Paislee. There is only one requirement- it can't be inside. Piper will only play with paislee in public... We're working on ABC's -D,V,T and a couple others sound like repeats, but she gets a kick out of "lime on a pee" (L, M, N, O, P).  Piper has recently become very stuck on Dora the Explorer, the occasional attempt at a Spanish word makes me smile... Her favorite is actually from Diego though, - ACTIVATE! (ak-tee-va-te) She still is our whiner, but her ever increasing grasp of language keeps us laughing.

Piper: Mommy, I have a baby.
Kalya: You do Piper? where is it?
Piper: In my Tummy. Its getting really big!
Kalya: How did it get in there?!
Piper: It just crawled up in there.
Kayla: Does your baby have a name?
Piper: Her name is 'Nelope, you, you can name your baby like Grandmas dog Sophie. okay?
Kayla: When will your baby come out?
Piper: Maybe come in play at grandma's house with Alden and Eli. (Piper's cousins)
or
Kayla: Piper, come pick up your toy cat.
Piper: where?
Kalya: There on the floor.
Piper: Mommy, that's not a cat, that's a PUMA.
She was right!

too true!

I know the urge to repost hilarious videos found on You tube and resist at all cost, but this one made me laugh out loud... cuz it is true- whether you DJed your missionary, got DJed or had to put a companion back together after getting the fateful letter, you can relate. so enjoy!

piper twinkle twinkle

This past week, or two has been really busy with all my school work, Abe's extra hours at the hospital and his work schedule. We felt like we shafted the girls a bit, so we decided to spend the whole day with them on Saturday. We usually spend Saturdays together but it is spent running errands and doing homework, this time we devoted doing everything that a kid would want to do. We had a great family day doing everything we could find to do in Idaho Falls. The girls favorite activity was playing in the ball pit at blast off. Hopefully their day out got them ready for another busy week. The good news is, is the semester is half way over, so soon my girls can have all my attention, and I can quit feeling so guilty. Here are some updated pics!

Playing in the cupboards have become one of their favorite activities

Don't worry, we didn't let Paislee suffocate

one of her favorite songs

This is always good at the end of the day
