Just getting started

New Years in our culture is obviously a "repent" and set-goals-you-probably-won't-keep time of year. After discussing it at length, Kayla and I decided that our chances for year long-term goals is pretty bleak- now don't get me wrong- this isn't faithless, it is more realistic. Yes, we're recognizing that what we want is a bit different than what may happen.
This is Kayla's last semester of classes, and I am doing an internship at EIRMC this semester, and if we survive, we'll graduate in April. Most importantly, Kayla is due in March, so we'll both take speed bumps mid-semester, and survive thanks to family who have volunteered (after telling us that we're crazy). Now i know alot of ya'll are thinking that we're crazy, that we brought this upon ourselves, but in fact, we received emails from the school saying that we've been here for too long, and if we don't graduate, then we would have to change our "years," basically setting us back 18 months. UGH. So WE PRESS FORWARD! like this picture of Paislee, where she was determined to eat the M&M that was leaking out her lips, and the camera...

After graduation though, the sky is the limit. I am trying to maintain my job with Melaleuca so that if we do stay here (*tear!*) we do have something reliable and Melaleuca is relatively fair compensation. I have been looking into applicable job markets to use my education (who does that?!) but so far... that is a rocky road- the grass is green enough that they're not planning ahead...

Anyway, my point is, though we would LOVE to be able to plan, we've thrown caution to the wind, sang "Just Around the River Bend" by Pocahontas (you know Disney) and decided that comfort zones are over-rated. in less than 6 months, we could be- anything- different job/career (mini ye-ha!), in a different state, one kid more in the van and who knows what else!

For now though, we have plenty to do... like laugh at this video Kayla took this week-

-Piper sings a duet with Katelyn, her cousin. They got all dressed up just to sing, but must have forgot to harmonize... The camera ran out of space, but they seriously did  this for like an hour.

So that is what Katelyn was talking about. She said you got the camera out but I didn't understand the whole story. It definitely made me laugh, thanks for sharing.

Wow, email from the school eh? That's awesome. I'm so glad you can look through all that grime and see the silver lining. Props to you both. You have such a beautiful family.
